He finally asked!
Pat "What do you think?"
me "about what?"
Pat "About us getting married?"
me" make it official"
Pat "sure"
me "Sound good to me."
Yup, that was it... Did you really expect any more out of Pat and I..... really?
The ring is his grandmother's, we will need to have some work done with. It was missing a few stones, and we want to reset it as close to what it used to look like. We are hoping to get a few Yogo sapphires set in with the diamonds to make it our own and put a little Montana in it.
And no, we don't have a date or anything else set yet... Let us get through closing on our house first, and then we will get a bit more organized... My guess is that it will be with-in 12 months. We've already waited 7 years to get engaged, why postpone any ceremony...
I'll keep you posted!

Pat, right now, is in Missoula being trained on how to be a great leader... and then Sat. we are heading down to Denver for the week, so that he can be trained some more on leadership skills... While Pat is in class, I will be wondering the city... I am hoping to get into the many museums and art galleries across the town... I will probably also make a stop at the zoo.... I know we will try to catch a Rockies game as well, I believe they will be playing the Cardinals all week...
If anyone has any must sees for me while I'm in town, let me know... The only time I have ever spent in Denver is at the airport, and I have seen my fair share of that place....

A new look
As for other happenings in my life... there are none... I am on my off season right now, and usually so is Pat, but the BLM has decided to bring him back on already for the year... So I get the winter off by myself... it's not as much fun I have to say.... So far Pat has spent last week and this week in Missoula for trainings. I can only hope they have the guys working in and around Lewistown, and not living in Zortman for at least a few months of the winter.... Or I'll only see Pat on weekends... That's fine for 6 months of the year, but I'm not so sure about 12 months... I guess if any traveling will be happening this winter... it'll most likely be Conner and I...

'Tis the season of Catalogs....
Fear not.... I believe I may have found a cure....
http://www.catalogchoice.org/#welcome
it is an easy site to navigate where you can register to have your name removed from any catalog you receive for free.... You can follow my link here or the one to the right... What a brilliant idea... kudos to you Catalog Choice....
Other than being covered with a pile of unwanted catalogs... Pat and I are good... Working a ton... and trying to get some play time in as well... Pat has had a great hunting season... lots of birds, and a couple deer... We shall be well fed this winter at least. Right now we are trying to not be blown off the earth with 65 mh winds... strong enough that Pat got a fire call last night from a telephone pole getting blown down in the Moccasins...
We have yet to have a good hard freeze, so I am still driving half of the State of MT for my Job... Although there is a chance for that to change today... Still waiting to hear the answer from my boss..... The Snow Geese and Swans are flying in and past in great numbers... Always a fun time of year.... I have heard a few Sandhills as they fly buy, but have not seen any touch down...
Hope you all are working out to stretch your tummies for the great feast of Turkey Day!!! Pat and I will be flying to Winona for a few days to hang with his family and friends... Looking forward to being on the Mississippi for the Holiday....

What a Wedding...
On Monday we were in Bozeman catching The Jerry Douglas Band concert.... If any of you get a chance to see them in concert.... you shouldn't pass it up... I had seen Jerry Douglas play with Allison Krauss before, but he is amazing with his own band... I love Allison, but Jerry's fiddle player leaves her in the dust....
Well it's off to play poker tonight at a friend's place. Then over to the "west side" next weekend for some x-country skiing. (Whitefish)

Yesterday's Adventure
The Financing: To afford this Plan we were to fly standby for cheep....
The First Leg: Getting from Great Falls to Salt Lake... not a problem... Who lives in or near Great Falls.... (other than us)
The Problem or The Second Leg: Everyone and their mother were flying to California from Salt Lake this week...
So Pat and I got to hang in the Salt Lake airport all day trying to get on any flight to San Diego, or by the end... anywhere with in a few hours drive...
Sadly due to the fact that everyone in this country decided to travel through Salt Lake... We had to give up on San Diego, and catch the last flight back to Great Falls.... which, of course, was so empty that we had no trouble getting on the flight... (again...who lives in or wants to go to Great Falls)
The adventure turned into a day trip to the Salk Lake City Airport... As I have told all that I have talked to in the past 24 hours... At least it broke up the monotony of our daily lives up here in Choteau....
Now we are back in our routine of the ever present Job Hunt.... Which will hopefully soon turn into something solid, and we can plan our next adventure... The move from Choteau..... It will happen at some point this Spring... so stay tuned....

Happy New Year!
Now that we are back from our trip to Minnesota, and I'm on my last few weeks of work... I seem to have found some time to update this blog.
Ok, so the picture is from last year in Scotland at Stuart and Gillian's wedding... It's a good toast picture....
Our holiday trip this year was a short one for once... Usually we are traveling for a month if not longer... this year, one week! After an agonizing 21 hours on the train we arrived in Winona a few blocks from the old Victorian Pat's Father lives in... And from that moment on, we were racing from one family event to another... and catching Pat's old crew in the few minutes between. Indiana in a week, easy.. not so much for Winona... There are a lot more people vying for your attention... All in all it was a great time visiting with Pat's family, although we had to wait until we were home to see some snow... There was hardly any ice on the Mississippi. So much for Ice fishing...
Pat's Mom and Sister rented a Farm house just outside of town for a few days after Christmas for the family to relax at.. It was a great place with miniature Donkeys, highland Cows, and multiple farm cats.
Hope all have a had a great Christmas and here's to a fantastic new year... I now will leave you with Pat's godson and nephew Patrick with the correct way to celebrate the Holidays!

The Hound's first hunt

So Pat and I decided to try Conner out on a little bird hunt... And were surprised at how well he actually did... First he found us a coyote den, then a whitetail doe, and finally he flushed a roster pheasant... Pat winged the bird, then Conner took us right to where the bird had hid... After realizing what we wanted... The Hunt was on... Who knew you could teach an almost 7 year old Coon Hound to hunt pheasants... Here is a shot with Conner, my Father's Birthday gift, and the prize roster...

"A SMASHING FRONTAL ATTACK ON ENEMY REAR?!" - Daffy Duck
Here is an update on my new job at violating ducks on a regular basis.. Which is quite fun, although not so much for the duck....

We are being invited to go out with federal banding operations, and then sample the ducks after they band them. So I am getting to work with a great group of people, FWS, APHIS, MTFWP, and from the Flathead Reservation.

Other than work;
Pat has been out working the Rocky Mountain Front Country, so he has been home every night. Which has been great, except that means I have to give up some control of the TV....
His father just had his pig valve replaced in heart surgery on the 6th, and so far all has gone well... He'll be at Mayo for up to a week, then it's off to catch the big one out on the River....
Now that Football season has started.... our weekends are full of Sat. college ball, then Sunday and Mon. night NFL. We have to watch the Aggies beat up on Ragin' Cajuns, the Manning boys beating up on each other... GO COLTS.... Then the Vikes take on the Redskins...
Pretty Big Weekend....
